National 5G Spectrum Auction: Ministry of Telecom Confirms October 2026 Launch Timeline

Telecom tower against clear sky

ISLAMABAD — Moving Pakistan closer to advanced mobile connectivity, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has formally announced the finalized roadmap for the country’s first national 5G spectrum auction, locked for October 2026. The high-profile spectrum rollout is projected to attract over $500 million in localized telecom infrastructure investments from international mobile network operators. To ensure seamless network deployment, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has initiated cross-departmental consultations to provide cell tower infrastructure sharing and reduced regulatory taxes on imported high-frequency optical fiber cables and networking hardware kits.
