Solar Panel Prices Drop 30% in Pakistan: New Green Energy Policy 2026

KARACHI / LAHORE — Good news for domestic consumers as solar panel prices have crashed by 30% across Pakistan following the government’s new “Green Energy Incentive” policy. The policy has removed additional regulatory duties on the latest N-Type solar cells and high-capacity inverters. With electricity tariffs still high, thousands of households are rushing to switch to solar power before the peak summer heat begins in May.

The Ministry of Energy has also announced a simplified “Net Metering” process, promising approval for residential solar setups within 7 working days. Market analysts predict that this move will reduce the burden on the national grid by at least 15% this year. For middle-class families, this is the most significant relief measure of 2026 so far, as it offers a long-term solution to high utility bills.
