ISLAMABAD — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formally greenlit the next phase of aggressive automation for the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), mandating an immediate shift toward a fully Faceless Tax Administration system. Meeting with an official FBR delegation in Islamabad following the conclusion of the fiscal cycle, the Premier lauded the tax machinery for smashing its Rs12.957 trillion target to collect a record Rs13 trillion. To protect local software houses, freelancers, and businesses from arbitrary human intervention, the new operational model will replace physical audits with centralized machine learning evaluation tracks, backed by Rs600 billion already disbursed in tax refunds to support liquidity.
