LAHORE — The Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) has launched the pilot phase of its “Digital Land Title Tokenization” project in selected commercial districts of Lahore. In partnership with provincial IT boards, the initiative is transferring physical property deeds onto a secure, immutable decentralized ledger. Once fully implemented, the blockchain infrastructure will allow overseas and domestic investors to instantly verify property ownership records online, completely eliminating document forgery and reducing property transfer delays from weeks to mere minutes. Real estate boards project this will unlock billions in micro-investments through fractional property ownership.
