Diplomacy in Action: PM Shehbaz Sharif Begins Strategic Tour of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey

ISLAMABAD — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has embarked on a high-stakes, four-day diplomatic blitz across the Middle East and Turkey. This mission comes at a critical juncture as the region grapples with rising tensions in the Persian Gulf. By visiting Riyadh, Doha, and Ankara, Pakistan is solidifying its position as a “Peace Broker,” aiming to leverage its neutral stance to facilitate dialogue between global powers and regional rivals.

During this tour, the Prime Minister is expected to focus heavily on economic integration and regional security. In Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the agenda remains centered on signing several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in the energy and infrastructure sectors to bolster Pakistan’s foreign reserves. Meanwhile, in Turkey, the PM will address the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, where he is set to pitch the vision of a “Connected Asia.” Beyond trade, the “Islamabad Dialogue” remains the top priority, with the PM seeking support from allies to host the upcoming U.S.-Iran peace talks in the Pakistani capital.
