PM Shehbaz Sharif to Attend Board of Peace Meeting on Gaza in Washington

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend the inaugural session of the Board of Peace on Gaza in Washington on February 19 at the US Institute of Peace. Pakistan is one of eight Muslim-majority countries, including Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the UAE, invited to the summit. The meeting will focus on the reconstruction of Gaza and will formalize the board’s mandate and structure, highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability.

Pakistan formally joined the Board of Peace last month during the World Economic Forum in Davos, where former US President Donald Trump was present. PM Shehbaz’s participation signals Pakistan’s active role in international diplomatic efforts, aiming to contribute meaningfully to peacebuilding in Gaza while strengthening ties with fellow member nations and the United States.
